Thank you for joining me to the South Pole! I'll be adding more interesting stuff when I get a little less busy; meanwhile please visit previous years and ask me questions at the top!

Why are you going to the South Pole again?
=) Since the last trip, we've been using our telescope to collect data throughout this year. I'm going again to calibrate the telescope, improve some of the devices, make special measurements, and prepare for the final year of observations.

How many people are you working there with?
=) I will be working with 4 other teammates in November, and a different set of 4 teammates in January/February. During December, I will be running the telescope by myself, so I'd better not break it!

What time is it there?
=) Since the flights are from New Zealand, we use NZ time. That's 3 hours behind California (but 1 day ahead).

How can I reach you?
=) Please call my room anytime at 1-720-568-1716 (no different from calling a US domestic landline)! You can reach me only when the satellites are accessible: 3am-1pm California time. If I'm not in my room, I'm usually by the telescope: 720-568-1900. Please also find me on Skype (yukimoon).

What's it like there now?
=) You can see the live image of the station and the weather.
