Dear All,
A new paper has been published in BMC Genomics on microbial ecology on the
27th Level (same level as the MINOS detector) of the Soudan Mine. This
paper describes the use of pyrosequencing, a rapid and relatively
inexpensive sequencing technology, to generate environmental genome
sequences, and may be a valuable technique to apply to geomicrobiological
research at the remaining DUSEL candidate sites.

The paper is available online at

The citation is

Using pyrosequencing to shed light on deep mine microbial ecology under
extreme hydrogeologic conditions.
