The Homestake Scientific Collaboration and the South Dakota Science
and Technology Authority are pleased to announce the next set of
scientific workshops on the Homestake DUSEL proposal and the Early
Implementation Laboratory at Homestake's 4850 level.

Workshop Dates: 9 - 11 February (8th and the afternoon of the 11th
being travel days)

Meeting Location: Lead South Dakota. The workshop hotel is the
Golden Hills Inn. (1-888- 465-3080) please refer to the group
reservation under “science lab”.

Shuttles between the Rapid City Airport and Lead, SD, will be
available on the 8th and 11th or by arrangement. Rental vehicles are
also available.

We wish to accomplish three major actions at this meeting:

1) Physics and Education and Outreach workshops to further stimulate
scientific collaboration and to better understand and establish the
scientific roadmaps for these disciplines.

2) Presentations of the Letters of Intent to the SDSTA and the
workshop participants to begin the assessment of the scientific
programs for Homestake.

3) Continue discussions with the South Dakota Science and Technology
Authority on the experimental infrastructure requirements for both
the Early Implementation Program and the plans for the longer-term
DUSEL.

Details on the February workshop, housing, and transportation will be
posted in the coming days at
