The top of the CDMS cryostat (the IceBox) is visible. The white material surrounding the cryostat is polyethylene to moderate neutrons. A thin copper structural wall separates the polyethylene from a 15-cm-thick 4-pi lead shield. A plastic-scintillator veto (not visible) surrounds the lead shield.
