On-Line Physics Activities - Step by Step
Please write your answers on this sheet and follow the step-by step
instructions.
1) Read and study the Student Guide sections titled Speed!, Displacement
and Path, and Path and Displacement.
2) Go to Worksheet 1 at the end of the Path and Displacement section
and answer the following questions (Remember to include direction in your
answers):

3) Read and study the section titled Speed and Average Velocity.
4) Go to Worksheet 2 and click on the web site address that is
given.
5) After reviewing that web page, go Back to Worksheet 2 and answer
the following questions:
a) Which car goes faster? ___________________________
b) How can you tell which car goes faster
only by looking at the graph?
c) Make a table of the data that shows
each position and time. Calculate the velocity of the red car and
the blue car from their positions on the graph at different times and include
this as a 3rd column in your table.
6) Go Back to the Student Guide section on Speed and Constant

7) Read and study "Describing Motion with Words". DON'T

e) Compare what you obtained (the shape of the curves) with what

descriptions of how your graph is similar and/or different than the
ones at this web site.
11) If you have time, go Back to the Student Guide and click on
next module. Read the sections on Acceleration and Free Fall and
then click on

12) Read through this information and write a summary of what
you learned about acceleration and free fall on the back of this page.
